Position Summary:
The Physical Therapy Tech assists in the Physical Therapy Department and performs predetermined patient-related activities and clinical upkeep as assigned by the Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Essential Functions:
The Physical Therapy Tech responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Treats patients with non skilled therapy services with the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist or Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant
Stocks and cleans the Rehab department
Maintains equipment including filling hydroculator, cleaning and checks temperature in freezer checks with direct supervision.
Accountability:
The Physical Therapy Tech reports to the Clinical Director of Outpatient Physical Therapy Services.

Keyboarding/Dexterity: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time
Standing/Walking: Frequently; activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Medium (Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects)
Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate verbally): Yes
Seeing: Yes
Hearing: Yes
Color Acuity (Must be able to distinguish and identify colors): Yes

Environmental Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Expected exposure to hazardous materials, infectious waste, blood and body fluids is high.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience in Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine or training in Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Oral/Written)


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
