Position Summary:
The ER Paramedic assists professional staff in providing patient care in the emergency room setting. Adheres to National patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Essential Functions:
The ER Paramedic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Administers medications, splint applications, insertion and removal of urethral catheters, sterile and non-sterile dressing changes.
Inserts, maintains, and removes NG tubes.
Performs Intravenous Cannulation.
Obtain EKGs, serial Vital signs, and monitor cardiac dysrhythmias.
Operates specialized equipment, including cardiac monitors, IV pumps, blood pressure monitors, blood warmer, and Emerson pumps.
Places patients on cardiac monitors, assists with monitoring heart rhythms, and obtains 12 lead EKG tracings.
The ER Paramedic reports to the Clinical Director of the Emergency Room.

Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Heavy (Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects)

Environmental Conditions:
Work involves potential exposure to infectious waste, hazardous materials, exertion and musculo-skeletal injury, and personal injury as a result of involvement with combative patients. Exposed to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases. Exposed to chemical agents like betadine, alcohol and needle sticks. Must wear universal protective clothing. Work involves frequent exposure to body secretions and wastes, disagreeable odors, cluttered work areas, noise, interruptions, and emergency conditions. Exposure to outside temperatures when assisting patients to and from private vehicles on a daily basis. Requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Drivers License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier' if needed.

Paramedic License or EMT-Intermediate License
CPR training
Successfully demonstrate medication competency
Cardiac monitoring knowledge preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
ACLS, PALS preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
